The person behind the part
A melody with somewhere to go.
Miles Rowan is Sunward Relay’s melodic storyteller. Lead guitar, slide, and acoustic guitar give his character several ways to carry a tune: a sustained line above the groove, a bend that hangs in the air, or a quieter phrase that leaves the horizon open.
His presence is relaxed and understated. Within the band’s world, Miles makes room for the rhythm section and the interplay between keyboards and saxophone. His part in Open Road Afterglow is shaped around movement and space, with the melody always pointing toward the next stretch of road.
