The person behind the part
Saxophones across the horizon.
Lena Marlow brings contrasting melodies to Sunward Relay through keyboards, tenor saxophone, and baritone saxophone. Her own keyboard station gives her a clear place in the ensemble, while the two saxophones offer contrasting registers and textures.
Her character broadens the conversation around the lead melody. A tenor line can answer a guitar phrase; a baritone part can bring a darker shade beneath it. Alongside Ellis’s secondary saxophone role, Lena opens up space for paired horn passages within the band’s warm, open-road identity.
